The most expensive and elegant Lamborghini is coming to the selected showrooms in late 2011. The Sesto Elemento concept, which turned heads at the Paris Motor Show late last year, is now being reported to be in the advanced stages of its development. If the sources are to be believed, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento will see a limited production run of no more than 20 units, priced around €2 million (about $2.8 million).

Anyway, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann is talking about a 50-50 chance of the Sesto Elemento going into production. The supercar weighs in at a mere 2,202 pounds, thanks to the use of composite materials, from the carbon fiber monocoque body shell to the suspension parts made of forged carbon fiber. A 5.2-liter V10 engine taken from the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera that will deliver 570hp will power the Sesto Elemento. It will hit 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

The reports further suggest that the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is destined for the track only. The €2 million price tag seems outrageous, but then Lamborghini already has the record of selling all 35 Reventons, which cost €1 million each, within a week after the announcement. Even if the Sesto Elemento doesn’t meet realism, it has given us a glimpse of what we can expect from Lamborghini in the future.
